3 Steps to Be the Boss of your Mind

final-1

Do you have a lot on your mind?
Are you an over thinker?

Is your mind busy worrying about the future and keeping you awake at night?

Is it difficult for you to make decisions and take action?

Are you confused and frustrated because you have a million things that you are thinking about?

This is a classic case of an untrained mind.
Your mind can either be your greatest asset or your most dangerous liability, depending on how it is managed. Your mind is your tool on our journey to success and the high performers of this world understand that to win the game of life, they must take charge of their mind and apply it correctly.
The mind’s job is to generate thoughts and ideas which influence our actions, behaviours and our general perception of reality.

“Your life is built upon what you think about all day long”

Experts estimate that we have around 60,000 thoughts a day. Of these thoughts, they say around 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive.

Every thought we have and therefore every action we take, creates our current reality.
When we learn to control our thoughts, weeding out the negative and generating new and exciting thoughts, by choosing our thoughts wisely, we start to become higher performers and begin to enjoy a happy and successful life, without the noise, confusion, repetition and clutter that an untrained mind creates.

Through a bit of practise, we can learn to use our mind as a tool rather than letting our mind aimlessly run our life.

3 Steps to Be the Boss of Your Mind

  1. Decide to Take Control
Realising that you can choose your thoughts is the first step to taking control of your Mind.
Decide that you are the boss and you are taking control of the thoughts that you allow your mind to generate and that you will choose what you allow yourself to think about from now on.
  2. Give your Mind Direction and Manage Your Focus
Often, our mind can be like a washing machine of chaos, overthinking, lots to do and filled with doubt and fear. Your mind can be likened to a child and when a child is in a state, the best remedy is changing their focus. By managing your focus, you give your mind direction.
    “Clarity shapes your reality”
Give clear instructions to your mind of what you want to focus on by setting goals and writing down a plan for each day and you will notice your mind will respond. All it needs is a bit
    of direction.
  3. Upgrade the Quality of Your Thoughts
You have the power to choose what to think and how to think. The quality of your thoughts determines the quality of your life. By focusing on your goals and following your plan, controlling and eliminating distractions and negative thoughts, you will begin the process of training your mind to follow instructions and therefore you will start managing your thoughts, and changing your current reality.

With a bit of practise, you can take control of your mind and train it to be your greatest asset and most valuable tool that serves you positively on your journey to success. By doing this you will build your optimism, reduce your stress and take steps forward to building you the life you desire.
