Do you know what you were born for?
This is an important question to answer, as a human being you have a natural and burning desire to feel important, valued and accepted. You want to feel that what you do matters and that who you are matters. You want to know that what you do is not only improving your own quality of life but also improving the quality of the lives of the people you meet and care about.
Define your Purpose
This is something that Entrepreneurs make the time and effort to define. As an Entrepreneur, you find that niche, that unique idea and you develop it into something that is pure and for a greater purpose than just what it can do for you.
“Spend 80% of your time focusing on the opportunities of tomorrow rather than the problems of yesterday”
Be Deliberate
Once you discover your purpose, everything you do is on purpose, is deliberate. If every action is preceded by thought, if your thinking is on purpose then your actions will naturally follow. Imagine getting to the stage where you know that every thought you have and every action you take is on purpose, deliberately taking you closer to fulfilling your reason for being born.
Living Randomly
To live without purpose is to live randomly. If you have been lost in a crowd, a big city or in the countryside, you will remember how scary that is. It is very scary and not something that we would like to repeat.
The Road to Travel
If you want to live a life of purpose, you need to search for it. This is often a scary road to travel, but if you courageously travel the road and ask the right questions of yourself, the beauty of your journey is revealed in the form of a calling to answer to.
You find purpose by following the process below:
Think about yourself on your death bed in many years from now,
- What have you contributed to the world?
- What have you achieved?
- What do you regret not having tried?
- What legacy are you leaving behind?
- Who did you become?
- Did your achievements please God?
Imagine
Imagine your great grandchildren by your bedside asking you to tell them one last story about your life. Imagine your little 4-year-old great granddaughter asking what the scariest thing you did was. Imagine your 10-year-old great grandson asking how you knew to do what you did. Imagine your children asking for one last piece of advice. What would you like to tell them?
Discover
Discover your purpose in life, no matter how hard it might be, keep searching until you find it. Then make sure that you live and fulfil it, it is why you were born.
Entrepreneurs do this and find a way of sustaining and funding the pursuit of their ideas by building it into a business that is profitable and provides them with the means to fulfil their purpose in life. You have it in you, and you will find it if you are willing to look.
